Pumas, also known as mountain lions or cougars, are versatile felines found throughout the Americas, from Canada to South America. Adaptable and powerful, they thrive in various habitats, including forests, deserts, and mountains. These solitary hunters prey on a wide range of animals, from small rodents to large deer.
Despite their adaptability, pumas face threats from habitat loss and fragmentation, which can lead to reduced prey availability and increased human-wildlife conflict. Conservation efforts are crucial to protect these majestic cats and maintain the ecological balance they help sustain.
