Numbees are my whimsical, imaginary creations, born from a playful moment while painting a numbat. As I captured the numbat's distinctive striped fur, I was struck by how much it reminded me of a bee's pattern. This spark of inspiration led me to envision a tiny, fictional creature that combines the charming, solitary nature of a numbat with the industrious, pollinating spirit of a bee. I picture numbees as gentle, striped beings that flutter between flowers and termite mounds, bringing a touch of magic to the world. They're a delightful blend of two fascinating creatures, reflecting the joy of creative imagination.
This is a print of my original work that was created with ink and watercolours in 2022.
The artwork is printed locally in Sydney using genuine Epson HDR Ultrachrome pigment inks on 100% cotton, highly textured Giclee Fine Art Paper.
