Did you know that black panthers are not a distinct species but are actually leopards or jaguars with a genetic mutation called melanism? Their dark coat provides them with a camouflage advantage in their shadowy habitats, making them nearly invisible in the dappled light of the forest floor. Found in the dense forests of Africa and South America, these big cats are known for their stealth and agility.
