I collected these smooth red and black pebbles, tumbled smooth by the Pacific Ocean on the shores of Wallabi Point beach, NSW, Australia and then drilled and suspended them from sterling silver wires to make these organic, slightly asymmetrical earrings. They are light weight.
I often pick up a pebble to hold while I walk along the beach and contemplate its origins. I wonder: Which mountain did it break off? How long did it take to wash down our rivers to land on the beach and gently be tumbled by the ocean. Every stone I work with no matter how precious or earthy has a story - a Tumbled Pebble - just like you and me
