This quilt is small, so is suitable for a lap quilt or as a play or change mat. It is not too wide to be used in a wheelchair. It could be draped over an armchair for decoration. It is unique.
It grew out of my ennui one day, wanting to do something simple and repetitive. Thus I stitched a lot of rectangles into threes – but then I needed to decide how to set them out. Rows of rectangles just seemed too obvious. Eventually I chose the crosses, with pink centres for a bright contrast.
Materials: The quilt is made of cotton, including the fabric, wadding and threads. I quilted it to emphasise the continuous light blues and the pink centres. It is soft and cosy. The binding, which is narrow, is mottled purple, as is the back. It can be cleaned in a washing machine on cold or warm, and dried in a dryer or in the shade. It has already been washed.
Size: 74 cm square.
