These oval discs are hand cut from recycled copper sheet. The discs are then placed on a texture plate and put through my rolling mill to emboss the copper. The next step is to dome the earrings using a dapping block and punch.
I’ve then applied a clear golden flux transparent enamel powder to the embossed side of the earrings and fired until molten and golden.
Cleaning the back of the earrings using my dremel and rotary disc to remove any fire scale , I then apply two layers of black opaque enamel powder and fired until molten in my kiln.
Once cooled I’ve cleaned the edges to remove any fire scale and buffed until smooth and shiny.
Each earring measures 2.5cm long and 2.2cm wide.
The total drop of the earrings from the top of the ear hook to the bottom of the enamelled disc is 3.8cm long.
The ear hooks are made from Argentium silver
