These flower components are cut from recycled copper sheet.
The back of each flower is enamelled with two layers of black powdered enamel and fired in my kiln at 800 degrees.
Once cooled I’ve cleaned the front of the earrings using my dremel and rotary disc to remove fire scale.
The first layer of enamel is a pale blue. Once this is fired and cooled I’ve applied a sprinkle of crackle lumps, a layer of sapphire blue powder and a sprinkle of van dyke brown. These three layers go into the kiln at the same time, at 800 degrees. The crackle lumps help form the cells and to spread the blue and brown enamel powders to form the pattern.
Each earring measures 2.2cm in diameter
The total drop of the earring from the top of the ear hook to the bottom of the flower is 3cm long
The ear hooks are made from Argentium silver
