This large slouchy hobo bag was created from some soft cream coloured fabric overlaid with beautiful lace cut from a vintage tablecloth (it had some rust stains on it that wouldn't wash out, I held my breath as I cut it!).
It is lined with creamy calico, and has a zip pocket on one wall and a double slip pocket inside the other wall. It closes with a magnetic snap in antique brass.
My hobo bags are quite big - about 35 cm x 28 cm, so they hold quite a lot.
The wide comfortable strap is long enough to wear the bag across your body, then it sits on your hip (it is 100cm). Alternatively, you could wear it on one shoulder if you prefer.
I called this design ‘Sadie Jane’ after one of my school friends when I was young.
