Natural Hypersthene and Sterling Silver Handcrafted Pendant

Hypersthene is a rare and beautiful stone, related to the feldspar minerals, and also known as Velvet Labradorite. It is charcoal black at first glance, but lights up with spectacular patches of iridescent grey when held at the right angle. It is known as a stone of psychic vision, said to be helpful in both receiving symbolic information, and sending one’s intentions out to the universe to manifest.

This striking pear-shaped cabochon called out to me from the offerings of one of our favourite crystal dealers at a recent gem show, and I just had to add it to my collection. You will note in the photos that it is very slender, and the back has been filled with a compound to stabilise it and give it strength. I have carefully embraced it with Australian made, ethically sourced 925 Sterling Silver wire, which I have oxidised and polished to complete this magickal treasure.
