These little cubes were inspired by one of my favourite lollies, the licorice allsort.
I make each cube to the dimensions of 10cm x 10cm x 10cm and then meticulously hand-cover them in straw, showcasing the timeless craft of straw marquetry.
Each surface shimmers with natural sheen, as the straw catches and reflects the light in subtle, jewel-like tones.
The cubes feature bold, geometric bands of pattern and colour—from vibrant pinks and yellows to deep greens, blues, and reds—making them both sculptural and decorative.
