Natural Australian Dendritic Opalite and Sterling Silver Pendant ~ handcrafted by Karina and Mike of Karmic Star

This spectacular stone from Western Australia is a common opal, known as Dendritic Opalite or Moss Opal, and I am absolutely fascinated by the intricate fern-like patterns (dendrites) which are the result of mineral oxides infiltrating the rock as it was forming.

Opalite is thought to be emotionally supportive and nurturing, excellent for alleviating stress and worry.

Mike has taken great care shaping and polishing this stone from rough rock to the shiny cabochon you see here, then handed it to me to embrace with Australian-made, ethically sourced 925 Sterling Silver. I have completed this unique treasure by oxidising and polishing the silver to a subtle antiqued finish.
