Hi, I’m Karen, the maker behind Knots in String in Tasmania.
I first learned to crochet with my great nan when I was a kid.
Nan was a great teacher and I have loved the craft ever since.
These days I make toys, nursery décor, homewares and novelties and I'm just starting to produce my own crochet patterns.
Everything I sell is made by me here in Tasmania in small quantities, with a lot of care taken over the materials, construction and finishing.
For my toys, that includes using baby safe certified yarns, non-allergenic recycled PET filling and are all made to Australian toy safety standards.
I’m in my happy place with a crochet hook in my hand, surrounded by way more yarn than any one person reasonably needs.
I like creating pieces that can be used and played with, washed, dried and kept for years rather than tucked away somewhere because they’re “too nice to use, or they might get dirty.”

Ready to ship in Orders are shipped within 3 days of purchase unless otherwise stated (business days)

Delivery Times: 5 to 7 business days
I am happy to take custom orders. Custom orders require a 50% deposit and will take up to 6 weeks to fulfill
