Lemon Leaves & Lavender Skies...the Story in the Brushstrokes
This painting began with a simple desire: to feel lighter.
Not just in mood, but in the way a room feels when you walk into it. I wanted to create something that almost floats—like morning light spilling through voile curtains or petals dancing in the breeze. The base layers are soft and sheer: translucent mauves and lemon yellows that melt into one another like the first signs of spring.
From there, I let the shapes unfold gently—delicate purple blooms, soft red leaves, and the freshest lemon-toned greens that instantly lift the whole piece. The final layer? Dots of white like tiny star-shaped flowers scattered across the surface. A little bit whimsical, a little bit magical.
There’s a sense of stillness in it. Of ease. It’s a piece I imagine in a space that’s calm but full of life—maybe beside a reading chair, or on a hallway wall that catches the morning light.
It’s made for the woman who doesn’t need bold to feel beautiful. She knows that softness can be powerful. That lightness can carry us when life feels heavy. And that joy often shows up in the quietest, most unexpected details.
