"The Head Chef" is a carefully handcrafted German style culinary knife. The blade is hand ground from Swedish high carbon sawblade steel ( 15N20 ). Due to its high carbon and nickel content and the careful heat treatment protocol, this steel makes a very durable and dependable cutting tool. The blade is decorated with an acid etched design with the use of a resist paint to mask off part of the blade then submerged into a ferric chloride bath. This not only produces a one of a kind piece but also helps the cutting experience by increasing the food release.
The handle is a European style, ergonomic design, that provides great comfort even during longer prep sessions. The handle scales are crefted from Richlite, a man made micarta like material. Recycled paper and cardboard is used in the process, combining it with resin under high pressure, making it a long lasting and stable choice for kitchen use. The subtle appearance of the natural Richlite is enhanced with mocha micarta liners, pantograph inlays and stainless steels Corby fasterning bolts. This knife is sure to impress seasoned chefs and passionate foodies alike. This beautifull, one of the kind cutting tool will make a great heirloom gift, that, if correctly cared for, will last for generations to come.
Why cook with an ugly knife anyway?
