These hardy spatulas are made from sustainable tough timbers, shaped to a beautiful “sharp-but-not-dangerous” edge and are our go-to cooking utensils at home. Great for sautéing, frying, mixing and all your frypan needs, these spatulas come in 2 handy sizes, small and medium.
Small - approximately 21cm long, 4.5cm wide at widest point - $40 each
Medium - approximately 24.5cm long, 5cm wide at widest point - $50 each
Current stock is Sandalwood, Mango, Australian Rosewood, New Guinean Rosewood and Camphor Laurel. I cut the spatula shape out using a bandsaw and then shape using a disc sander, before hand sanding from 120 grit through to 600 grit, burnishing and then sealing with my spoon butter; a wonderful mix of coconut oil and beeswax which is then buffed to a shine.
Care for your spatula: Wash with warm water and detergent when needed. Never place in the dishwasher. Dishwasher = sadness :( From time to time you can re-sand with a light grade sandpaper (for example 320 grit), and re-oil using a food safe and non-oxidising oil (for example food grade mineral oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, or my spoon butter!).
