This little bird was hand-carved in white beech, one of Australia's best carving timbers. Small enough to hold in your hand, sit on a window sill ... wherever brings you joy. I'm often asked what bird I model my birds on. The answer is that I don't try to replicate any particular breed of bird, I just like to convey, with enough but not too much detail, the idea of a bird.
