We kept bees for years and enjoyed watching them make their way around our gardens. We also enjoyed the honey they made! Unfortunately, we had to get rid of our bees when the varroa mite was discovered in New South Wales. But just before the outbreak, I noticed a few native banded bees buzzing around our gardens as well. And that's the inspiration behind this design!
