Hi, I’m Rachel from MADE3934 – originally from the UK, now happily settled in Australia with my husband and our three teenagers who definitely keep life interesting!

My journey into sewing started a little unusually. Years ago, inspired by my mother-in-law (a very talented seamstress who even made my bridesmaid dresses!), I asked her to teach me how to sew. She showed me how to put a zipper into a cushion… and that’s as far as I got – at the time!

Fast forward to 2020 and the world of lockdowns. Like many, I found myself with time on my hands and a growing need for creativity. I persuaded my husband to buy the cheapest sewing machine we could find so I could try making face masks for the family. That little machine sparked something big. With YouTube as my teacher and a growing obsession with fabric stores, I discovered the world of bag making – and I was hooked.

What started as a lockdown hobby quickly turned into a passion. I love choosing bold, fun, and beautiful fabrics – especially for linings – and crafting them into practical, one-of-a-kind bags and pouches. Every piece I make is unique, just like the person who carries it.
