I make and sell junk journals and ephemera!

Wondering what a junk journal is?

It’s a handmade book I create using all kinds of unique and interesting papers - some dyed with coffee, tea or even avocado skins (which gives the paper a beautiful pink hue 💗).

I incorporate vintage book pages, vellum, protective sheets from old photo albums and lined paper from old notebooks to give each journal its own character.

As for ephemera, it’s usually made up of things most people throw away. But I collect and repurpose items like cereal boxes, glassine cereal liners, old stamps, clothing tags, embroidery thread off cuts, foil lids from butter and coffee, plus packaging like gift wrap and envelopes. I also love adding buttons, lace, fabric scraps, and other bits and pieces that might otherwise end up in landfill.

So when I create junk journals, I’m not just making something beautiful - I’m also giving new life to materials that would have been discarded. It’s creativity and sustainability in one!

So, what exactly do you use a junk journal for?

I design my journals with plenty of writing space. Personally, I’ve kept a diary since I was 16, jotting down my thoughts, feelings, and everyday moments. A junk journal is perfect for that too, but it can also be a place to keep lists of your favourite movies, songs and books. You can even fill it with your own poetry - that’s one of my personal favourites.

Another beautiful way to use a junk journal is as an art journal. Decorate the pages with magazine cut-outs, tuck in precious photos, or paint and draw to your heart’s content.

There really are no rules - the sky’s the limit when it comes to how you use a junk journal!

All of my junk journals are one-off creations and can be personalised, making them a thoughtful and unique gift for someone special.
