Tell us about your creations and your handmade process.

Working with clay, the possibilities are endless! My first love is porcelain, it's unmatched in clarity, translucent quality and delicate feel, making it the perfect medium for my personalised ring dishes and ornaments. I'm especially drawn to creating meaningful, custom pieces that are gifted for weddings, engagements, anniversaries and other milestones.

There's something really special in creating a piece that will be an important moment in someone's life. When I'm not working on custom orders, I love exploring other clay bodies and am currently working on small-batch collection of mugs.

Tell us a bit about your journey to becoming a handmade artist.

My journey with ceramics began when my parents took on Springwood Porcelain in the 90s. Our studio was located at the Bendigo Pottery and we produced a wide range of porcelain figurines. When the business was eventually packed away after many amazing years my love for clay never left. Over time, I've reimagined and evolved Springwood Porcelain into what it is today - a blend of its original roots and my own creative direction.

What is your inspiration or where do you find inspiration?

Much of my inspiration comes from my customers. I love working closely with people to create something personal and meaningful, especially when it's intended as a gift for someone they love. When I'm exploring other clay bodies, I take inspiration from natural forms and am drawn to the look of organically formed pieces that have character.

Where did you learn your craft?

Ceramics has been a constant thread throughout my life, but my journey has taken many different directions over the years - from figurines to porcelain jewellery, to homewares and custom pieces. I love that working with clay is an ongoing learning process. Each new direction builds on the last, adding new skills and ideas along the way.

Why is handmade artistry so important to you?

When you buy handmade, it's meaningful. Someone has created something with their own hands, with so much care and passion. Whether it's a personalised gift marking a special occasion or a favourite mug used every morning, handmade pieces carry a sense of connection that you simply don't get from mass-produced items.
