Tell us about your creations and your handmade process.
I create crochet bags that are both practical and stylish, each one thoughtfully designed to be used and loved every day. I work mainly with materials that provide my bags structure and durability while still having a soft touch. Each bag starts as a ball of yarn and slowly takes shape through hours of careful stitching. I choose colours that work beautifully together and pay attention to the small details like handles, closures, and finishes so that every bag feels special and unique.
Tell us a bit about your journey to becoming a handmade artist.
My crochet journey began over 10 years ago when I started making baby blankets, cardigans, and scarves for friends and family. Over time, I discovered a real passion for creating bags that are practical, stylish, and different from what you usually find in stores.
What began as a hobby slowly grew into something more, and now I feel so grateful that I get to share my work with others who value handmade pieces.
What is your inspiration or where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in everyday life including the colours of nature, seasonal fashion trends, and even the needs I see around me. Sometimes it's a colour combination that sparks an idea, other times it's the thought of creating a bag that can carry someone's daily essentials with ease.
Where did you learn your craft?
My first introduction to crochet was through my mother, who inspired me with her own creativity. She was also a tailor and taught me how to sew my bag linings, which has become an important part of my process. From there, I kept learning through practice, experimenting with patterns, and using books and online tutorials to improve my skills.
Crochet is one of those crafts that continually teaches you something new, and with each piece I make, I find myself growing and refining my technique. It's a slow and mindful process, but that's exactly what makes it so rewarding.
Why is handmade artistry so important to you?
Handmade artistry is very close to my heart because it represents time, care, and passion poured into every creation. It also carries the memory of my mum, who sadly passed away earlier this year. She taught me so much, and with every bag I create, I feel connected to her and know she would be proud of me.
Crocheting has become a way of helping me process my grief, turning something painful into something meaningful. For me, making a bag isn't just about creating something to sell, it's about crafting a piece that carries thought, intention, and heart. Handmade is also about connection to tradition, to creativity, and to the people who value and cherish something made by hand.
