Handwoven small hanging basket. Dimensions: height 8 cm, diameter 12 cm.
Made from natural and dyed (red,orange,brown) wicker. Macrame cord, 4mm thickness, 90% cotton and 10% polyester, is used for the hanging cord. Finished with satin varnish, which enhances the colour, and makes it easily cleaned with a damp cloth.
An ideal basket for a young child - once they eat the Easter eggs, they will have the basket for years of play activity. The basket can graduate to a garlic hanging basket for use in the kitchen. Freighted in a Parcel Post satchel.
My studio is located in Lockwood, Victoria, Australia. For most of my working life I have been a craftsman, making ceramics. Of recent times I have taken up the art of basket weaving. I draw on traditional designs & techniques and incorporate my own ideas into the work. My aim is to make sturdy, durable, unique & colourful baskets that are a pleasure to use and to look at.
