I call this Board "Wise Old Tree",
It was inspired by a lonely old tree growing in a paddock up near Daylesford, Victoria - I got to thinking about all the things and history this old tree had stoically stood witness to over countless years and thought it would make a great subject for a special Cutting Board.
The "Wise Old Tree" is carved into the host timber of Tasmanian Oak [65mm thick] and then inset with beautiful end grain slices of different timbers,
Base Timber - Tasmanian Oak: - A premium Australian hardwood timber encompassing three tree species that grow in the mountainous areas of Tasmania.
Carved Shape Inset with End Grain Timber Slices of : Rose Gum, Tasmanian Oak and Red Gum, each shaped and glued individually before being
enveloped in epoxy resin to to form a substantial Board that highlights the natural colour and graining of each wood slice.
This is a substantial Timber Board that is ready for years of Kitchen Action!

The Board has then been fine sanded to around 240 grit and finally finished and sealed with several coats of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil, which is Food Safe when cured.
Each Bonnie Timber Board is hand crafted by me in Bonbeach, Victoria to be a piece of functional wood art for your Kitchen and Home that will last for many years with just minimal care.
