Nothing quite says Australian summer like wattle! But if you’re like me and have a love/hate relationship with this beautiful bush on account of horrendous hayfever that accompanies the gentle perfume of wattle’s pollen, then this adorable stained glass posey is for you!!
As you can see from the gallery images, each organically shaped leaf and flower has been hand cut, ground, and soldered. Created using vintage green glass that has wispy shades of blue and yellow throughout it, I’ve teamed varieties of yellow and orange glasses that are just slightly textured to really encapsulate the delicate nature of these plants.
The tallest of the leaves is approx 25cm and 10cm at its widest point, while the shortest blossom stands at 19cm. Each hand twisted stem has been created using copper wire which has been tinned at the end to ensure that it is no longer sharp, and all stems are bendable with minimal effort to ensure that they will fit perfectly in your arrangement (all stems will arrive to you straight).
This bouquet looks beautiful on a windowsill with natural sunlight, or as part of your indoor décor. Better yet it will last a lifetime, and only require periodic dusting and polishing – honestly, wattle they think of next?!
