A famous rabbit once told us that "even the smallest one can change the world", and I've never agreed with a furry friend more!
Through making and wearing up-cycled vintage and antique china that would otherwise be locked in a cupboard, or worse thrown away into landfill, we can all make a difference in helping the Earth....and show off our truly unique style!
These earrings have been created using china from a vintage Bunnykins bowl, which have been famously made by Royal Doulton since 1934. The bunnies that are featured on the rim of the bowl are iconic, and instantly recognisable. To make them, I carefully break the china and cut around the image using specialist cutters before refining them with a grinder. It is a fun, and sometimes tricky process with a lot of breath holding!
The edges of the studs have been sealed to prevent staining or degradation of the china, and feature stainless steel posts. The dangles have been created using lead-free solder so they are safe to wear as often as you'd like, and feature sterling silver crooks.
Some fading and/or crazing may be present on the china, this is a normal part of the aging process and does not undermine the integrity of the piece.
