This unique and original art bowl or vessel was inspired by the vibrant colors of the Australian Pilbara desert. The artist, a skilled fibre artist, has used the age old, labour intensive craft of wet felting using merino wool and silk to create a stunning piece of textile art that is both decorative and functional.
The vessel is made from 100% merino wool and silk fibres and features a rich palette of oranges, reds, and yellows.

I finish my pieces with a special acid free, hardening formula. This does not change the surface 'feel' or appearance of the vessel but gives it a more structurally solid form that will not collapse, much like a ceramic. Indeed, when viewed, my art vessels have been confused with ceramic artworks!
