The core of my Smudge Stick is Palo Santo which is then surrounded by the carefully chosen botanicals I grow in my garden, wrapped tightly with hemp cord and hung to dry. Each Smudge Stick is made with intention and contains the following:
Palo Santo
is known as “holy wood” and is derived from very specific trees in Peru. Monks will allow the trees to grow to their full age of 80 - 90 years at which point they await the tree to fall and preserve the trunk for another 2-5 years allowing the essential oils to infuse into the hardwood. Palo Santo is used to purify energies, to protect from negative energies and to bring clarity and healing to our spiritual body.
Lavender
Is associated with peace and purification, protection, healing and emotional balance. It has historically symbolised devotion and loyalty and has been used to promote harmony in relationships.
Sage
is used for purification and cleansing, spiritual housekeeping, creating a sacred atmosphere. Also with protection, clarity and truth, wisdom and guidance. Sage has been historically associated with physical healing, its use can bring balance and well being.
Rosemary
wards off negative energy, protects from ‘evil eye’ and provides a spiritual shield. Rosemary cleanses spaces, people and objects. It strengthens memory, honours ancestors and promotes clarity. It is believed to be beneficial for the heart, both emotionally and spiritually.
Thyme
promotes courage, strength and purification. It is added to smudge blends to purify a space and clear negative energy, used to create stronger protective boundaries making your space more pure and serene, attracting positive energy. It is associated with mental clarity and focus, connecting to the seat of intuition and inner vision.
