Description
- This silk scarf has been hand printed with leaves from the scribbly gum tree (eucalyptus).
- The finished colour given by the leaves is mainly gold with hints of pink and deep purple.
- The grey colour is from the tannin in the leaves and the pot water.
- Soft and floaty.
- 35cm x 175cm 100% silk with hand rolled hems.

The eco-printing process I use involves wrapping the leaves around the fabric, tying tightly and boiling for many hours (4 to be exact!). I use a piece of salvaged iron in the boil, which also gives colour and interest to the finished result. I don't use any chemical or powdered mordants in any of my products. The scarves are colourfast and can be washed by hand with a pure soap.
