This zipper pouch has taken tie dyeing to the next level! All the shapes and lines have been meticulously stitched and tied before the fabric entered the dye bath. This is called Stitched Shibori, a dyeing technique that has it's origins in Japan.
I used fiber reactive dyes, which are superior with regards to colour fastness. For this pouch I mixed orange with a warm black, resulting in a deep ocher colour.
The flower and the wavy lines have been accentuated with hand stitching to make this a truly stunning and unique zipper pouch.
Use it for cosmetics, art/craft/sewing supplies, small collections, jewellery and accessories, medical supplies and so on.
