The Australian Light Horse were mainly Walers. This breed were medium-sized, tough bush horses, suitable for carrying heavy packs. They were used to pull heavy military equipment, ambulance wagons and carry the wounded among other duties.
"Australian Light Horse" was originally taken one crisp Anzac Day morning. Taken after the dawn service when The Light Horse were all lined up beautifully in their polished, shiny tack.
