Straw marquetry mirror - brushed grey and aged gold.
This is a unique piece made by myself and will not be duplicated.
Each piece of straw has been cut to the exact measurement to allow for a continuous pattern. To complement the colors of the pattern, I have veneered the edging and back with Blackbean wood veneer - the colors all blend beautifully together.
The mdf substrate has a hole in the middle of it which I decided to cover with the veneer. This resulted in an indentation on the back of the frame which adds a bit more detail.
Professional framing clips and wire have been inserted in the back as this piece is quite heavy (weighs 1.6kg).
