This bag is crocheted with an Australian Made Recycled Yarn using natural fibres from the wool industry. It creates a textured finish with great stitch definition and is incredibly sturdy.
I've become obsessed with creating these Traditional Japanese Knot Bags.
Designed to hold small treasures traditionally for tea ceremony, with a longer handle that threads through the smaller one, it creates a knot symbolising protection and often made using recycled fabric such a rice sacks.
It is cleverly, a self closing bag without the need for buttons or clasps.
I came upon them while looking for something to make to raise some extra funds for my teenagers upcoming school trip to Japan! How crazy- we were lucky to go to the beach!
Measurements- bag compartment approx 22cm x 18cm
Forgo paper and make this Japanese Knot Bag the wrapping by filling it with other handmade goodness for a Christmas gift or a unique birthday gift.
I hope you like them and I hope you become obsessed with them as much as I have!
Kind Regards
LeJB xx
