Handmade Art Doll - Vincent Van Gogh

This unique, one-of-a-kind Art Doll, has been lovingly handmade (by Me) using a mixture of both new and (clean) recycled fabrics.

He is stuffed with (new) acrylic fibrefill, and I have embellished him with a mixture of new and old broken jewellery pieces. His eyes are plastic, which are glued onto acrylic buttons that I have handstitched onto his face❤️

His wild hair is faux fur/hair and is hot-glued onto his head.

While creating this “little person” I was very aware of Vincent Van Gogh’s troubled life, but I also thought it would be quite lovely to portray him in another light – one that allowed him to be himself, and to let his creativity flow through his paintbrush.

So, with this as my guiding mantra, I allowed my Vincent to show a little more happiness and joy of life – especially his life once he discovered the delights of painting sunshine – as portrayed in his famous “Sunflowers” artwork, during his year (1888) in Arles (Southern France).
