There's something about earthy tones that I just love - maybe it's because they go with everything, or give off calming vibes? Whatever the reason, they always look classy and cool!
This pendant and matching stud earrings hav been crafted by fusing a variety of earth tone glasses. The pendant measures roughly 5.5cm across and .5cm thick, while the studs are 1.5cm across with surgical steel posts. This pendant makes a lovely statement piece on its own, and secret tip - it also doubles as a classy glasses holder for those pesky reading specs when you're out shopping!
I always find the science behind fusing glass really interesting! Did you know that a single piece of glass can be melted and fused to itself safely, but in order for two or more glasses to be stable after being melted and fused together they must be compatible, otherwise they can shatter apart? When I fuse glass I am careful to ensure that all glasses are compatible - these pieces have been created with COE 96, and with a little care will last a lifetime! Another sneaky trick is that the shapes we put in the kiln are not always the shapes that come out - on the final pic you'll see the back of the pendant, which has a matt finish and features the square shapes of the original glass pieces. For more glass facts, and behind the scenes follow along on my socials!
Once purchased, this piece will be safely wrapped using recycled and reclaimed materials wherever possible, and popped in the mail to reach you in a few days! And as always, if you've got something custom in mind - get in touch with me today and I'll make it for you!
