What a gorgeous statement piece to wear to Grannies (or anywhere)!
This lovely one off pendant from the “flower garden” collection, has been handcrafted using vintage crockery pieces and lead free solder. Due to the age of the crockery you will notice some areas of very fine ‘cracking’ in the top layer of glaze, this is known as crazing, and is perfectly normal and does not interfere with the integrity of the piece – in fact it’s one of my favourite aspects of working with it and gives that true ‘vintage’ feel!
To create these recycled crockery jewellery pieces, I first carefully cut around the shape of the image I want to capture using mosaic tile cutters, grind all sharp edges, and either seal the edges with a clear lacquer OR use copper foil and lead free solder to create a silver border. All findings are glued in place, and patina applied OR polished. Pieces usually take a couple of hours to create, and I tend to work on one collection at a time.
This pendant is approximately 5 x 5cm at its widest points, and is very light to wear.
