The wood-framed clutch purse or handbag combines practicality, versatility and timeless style. Based on an original design and crafted with care in my home studio, it’s the perfect size for a night out, a day at the races, a formal event or lunch with the girls. Clever shaping and the use of pleats along the base ensures you can fit in all your essentials – phone, makeup, wallet and lots more.
The details
The bag measures approximately 21cm high including the clasp and is around 28cm wide at the widest point. The base is 9cm deep and the frame is 21cm wide. There is a slip pocket inside for easy access to keys or cards.
A beautiful wood frame has been used for this bag, and a coordinating detachable 30cm chain is included. Magnets in the frame ensure a secure closure.
The exterior is made from high quality medium-weight cotton fabric featuring a native Australian floral print in earthy colours, designed by Australian designer Kirsten Katz. Layers of interfacing and wadding are added during construction to ensure structure and stability, and each purse is fully lined with a coordinating cotton fabric.
The frame is glued and screwed to the fabric, ensuring that the purse remains a cherished accessory for years to come.
