Hey! 👋🏼
Thank you for stumbling upon my creations. I am L•Wood, a creative with a hankering for getting hands on. I am located in Victoria, Australia! G’Day! 🇦🇺
Two White Speckled Stoneware buttons. These are my Mothers favourite so far, she loves the off centre holes. She even said she’d wear it as a pendant! That’s an idea for the future. 🤔 Size - approximately 2.5cm.
My buttons - my babies. I love them all equally and I know you will love them too. All buttons are stoneware clay, fired between 1200°C and 1300°C 🔥. This makes them strong and durable for everyday ware. Although, there is one thing I would highly recommend, hand-wash only. But you can (if you truly must), turn the item off clothing inside out and stuff it into a delicates bag. I say this only due to the fact that I don’t machine wash my special items of clothing because machines ruin everything! But I am not responsible for any damage if you decide to machine wash. Okay? Okay! Thank you. I know my babies are strong, but we all get hurt sometimes. Take care of us, and your nice items of clothing. 💕
Why pick my Aussie crafted pieces?
- All packaging is handmade by me through the process of breaking down previously used cardboard/paper into a pulp then restructured into a functional piece of board. All pieces can be recycled, so please do.
- Everything you see here is moulded by my own two hands, whether it’s a vessel to place your trinkets into, a piece of jewellery, or a… button!! Each piece is crafted by me. A one person show. After being moulded into greatness, it is placed into a very… very hot kiln. This cooks the clay making it strong and durable for everyday use and/or wear. 💪🏼
- Every piece is unique because I am not one to settle with one way of doing things. Which means some pieces will be a one off release. As creatives go, we like to experiment with different mediums and techniques, it’s you, the patrons, the customers that allow us to do this. The more that purchase handcrafted goods, the more opportunities you give to artists to explore creativity, which brings more beauty for you to feast your eyes upon. ✨
- If a piece is sculptural and not meant to be used for eaten out of, or hot liquids put into it then it is more likely not to be food safe, but again check descriptions in the bio. Every glaze that I use is lead free, this ain’t 1997 anymore. That sh*t is banned, and hella gross. 😷
- I work with different clays, please check the description if you have a preference. 🔍
