Blooming in Salt & Sunlight...The Story In the Brushstrokes.
This painting was born from memories of my parents’ beachside garden — a space that has never been manicured but always held its own kind of wild beauty. It’s the kind of place where plants don’t have the luxury of comfort: they grow between weathered shingles and dry sandy soil, surrounded by salt, wind, and sun. And yet… they bloom
There’s something quietly powerful about that. These plants don’t ask for ideal conditions — they simply find a way to thrive where they are, stretching toward the light, season after season. No fuss, no drama. Just quiet, steady resilience.
As I painted, I thought a lot about that kind of strength — the kind so many women I know carry within them. It’s not loud or flashy, but it runs deep. It’s the strength that gets up again, that keeps showing up, that finds joy even when things feel tough. I sent those reflections into the layers of this painting — warm reds and glowing golds for intensity, soft floral details for hope and gentleness.
Blooming in Salt and Sunlight is a love letter to that kind of resilience. The kind that bends but doesn’t break. That blossoms quietly, without asking permission. That reminds us we are allowed to grow even in less-than-perfect conditions
A tribute to the beauty that blooms anyway.
