Osaka Origins is about creating quality bags and accessories from beautiful fabrics. Among these fabrics are gorgeous up cycled vintage Japanese Silk Obi* and opulent Balinese silks. I also use satin, canvas and cotton duck fabrics. Wherever possible I incorporate up cycled Obijime** which are beautifully handmade cords in amazing colours and styles.
The Obi are all one of a kind and cannot be replicated and each bag is crafted individually so that no two are exactly the same.
All my bags are hand made by me and my aim is to provide a bag that is beautiful and functional with the highest quality workmanship.
Each bag comes with a custom cloth storage bag to give protection from dust and sunlight and has been Scotchgarded to help repel moisture and dirt.
As a result of the fabrics former life as a piece of clothing, some small imperfections may be present with some items. Small stains or signs of wear tell of the history of the fabric while being transformed into a new bag sets the stage for a new story to be written.

CARE GUIDE
How to keep your artisan handbag looking its best.
Preserving the beauty of upcycled obi fabrics requires a little extra attention. These textiles often feature delicate threads and natural dyes, making them truly unique but also sensitive to handling and cleaning.
Your bag has been Scotchgarded for extra protection, but please keep in mind that its exterior is made from pure silk and so will benefit from a little extra care and attention.
Handling & Storage
Avoid Sunlight, Display and store your items away from direct sunlight.
Always use the cotton bag supplied with your bag for storage.
DO NOT discard the silica gel packet inside it is there to help stop humidity from damaging your bag.
Store in a cool, dry dark place.
Due to the embroidered pattern on some bags extra care must be taken with jewellery, clothing zippers and other items that might pull the threads when using the bag. Any damages caused this way will not be covered by the returns policy.
To keep your bag looking its best for years to come please be gentle with it, avoid getting it wet, sponge off any spills (even water) before they dry and pat dry with a clean cloth.
If small stains or marks occur gently spot clean with a soft cloth and mild colourless detergent mixed with cold water. Never apply the detergent directly onto the bag. Always test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area before using. Never rub vigorously as silk is delicate and damage may occur. Do Not tumble dry. If ironing is necessary use a medium heat setting and a white pressing cloth to protect the fabric surface whilst ironing.
If necessary for larger or stubborn stains please seek the advice of a qualified Dry Cleaning Professional who is experienced in handling silk.
