Hi, I'm Leanne, a self-taught jewellery designer based on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. I create bold, hand-painted jewellery inspired by nature, wildlife and everyday items. Each piece is lovingly slow-made in my solar-powered home studio, using traditional techniques. I saw every design from brass, then bring it to life with vibrant watercolours, hand painting each one like a tiny canvas, and then sealing them for durability. My process is intentionally slow and hands-on, favouring connection over mass production.
Life took an unexpected turn for me when I faced a period of illness that led to my leaving my job. It was a challenging and uncertain time, but it was during this period of illness that I turned to my creativity as a source of solace and a means to support myself financially. I took a leap of faith (albeit a very quiet and dainty leap š) and, equipped with my skills and a strong sense of purpose (and an eagerness to not starve to death), I transformed my passion into a business.
Today, I still struggle on occasion with my health, but I love that I can work my business around my health and continue to thrive as a jewellery artist and entrepreneur.
