Did you know that hot water bottles were originally invented over 500 years ago? They have evolved from bed warmers that may have actually set your sheets on fire, to the flexible rubber bottles we have today.
For me, hot water bottles bring memories of childhood - something warm and toastie to keep my feet warm in chilly weather. Usually with a daggy knitted cover! And as much as I love a heat pack, they don’t tend to stay warm for very long.
This cover is made from an upcycled woollen blanket in very pale pastels. It features a little hand appliqued flower & leaves. The embroidered side is lined on the inside. It is a simple envelope design so it is easy to slip the bag inside. The thermal qualities of the wool ensures that the hot water bottle stays warm for a good long time (I’ve found them to last 4 – 5 hours).
Size: Made to fit a regular hot water bottle available from your local pharmacy.
