This unique and original small, art vessel is a beautiful combination of wool, silk and hand embroidery.

The artist, a skilled fibre artist, has used the age old, labour intensive craft of wet felting using merino wool and silk to create a stunning piece of textile art that is both decorative and functional.
The vessel is made from 100% merino wool and silk fibres and features a soft palette of pastel, mint green and white. I have then added an extra layer of hand embroidery to add a little interest around the top.

I am inspired by the natural world, and I love to use my art to capture the beauty of nature. I am particularly drawn to the colors and textures of the Australian desert and ocean, and I have tried to reflect this in my work.

I finish my pieces with a special acid free, hardening formula. This does not change the surface 'feel' or appearance of the vessel but gives it a more structurally solid form that will not collapse, much like a ceramic. Indeed, when viewed, my art vessels have been confused with ceramic artworks!
