A butter dish created for people who like a more natural look in tableware.
I still wanted to add playfulness on this piece by painting floral motifs and hopefully add the playfulness my works aims to. Given to the round shape, the dish will fit easily an half butter pack of 250 gr if not 3/4 of it. It can also be used to serve you camembert cheese. Ideal for the farm cottage style kitchen, or for the home styled with natural tones. This piece will be loved for years to come.
The inside of the lid and the bottom dish has been fully glazed with white glaze and it shows beautiful speckles. It also protects the piece from food’s oils and allows you to easily wash or wipe. On the outside, only the images have been glazed, so you obtain a beautiful contrast between raw an glazed surfaces. The raw area has been sealed with liquid quartz which is a Australian made product used to treat ceramic serving ware in restaurants. This sealant protects the surface from any oil stains. The water runs off and it is not absorbed on this areas.
Carefully crafted with Australian stoneware clay ideal for your everyday use. Dish washer safe.
Measurements:
Lid; 6 cm H excluding the handle x 12 cm Diameter
Bottom dish: 2 cm H x 15 cm Diameter
Sustainability: Alma Terra products are ethically made by me in my backyard studio, I care about the environment and the footprint on earth, I only use Australian raw materials and products instead of flying them form different parts of the world, I support Australian businesses only. I recycle and reuse water from the studio to water the veggie garden right outside my creative space. Every left over of clay is recycled until I collect a sufficient amount to make more ceramic pieces. The kiln is run on solar power to fire my work so I minimise the demand from electricity.
All Pieces are made by me in North east Victoria.
