This doily design is hexagonal, and it mainly features a detailed depiction of a queen bee at the center, with its wings spread out symmetrically. The bee is framed by a textured hexagon, symbolizing a honeycomb cell.

The rest of the pattern includes floral or honeycomb-like motifs arranged in a lacy, openwork style. with the worker bees around.

I've used a golden yellow to crochet this, and the outer edge is bordered with a thin black trim, adding contrast and definition to the piece.
