Red kangaroos are the largest marsupials, native to Australia’s open plains and deserts. Known for their reddish-brown fur and powerful hind legs, they can hop up to 40 mph and leap 30 feet in a single bound. Males can weigh up to 200 pounds, while females are smaller. They graze on grasses and live in groups called mobs. Well-adapted to arid environments, they face threats from habitat loss and drought, but their populations remain stable due to conservation efforts and their adaptability.
