Hexagonal Box- Solid Australian Timber- Tasmanian Huon Pine

Handcrafted from a lovely solid piece of Tasmanian Huon Pine, the body of this box is created from a single piece of thick quality timber. The hexagonal shape allows the differing patterns that naturally occur in the timber to emerge. The lid has also been crafted from solid wood- for this box a piece of highly figured birds-eye Huon Pine with a  fiddleback shimmer was specially selected.

Extensive detail work enhances the beauty of this design and attentive hand sanding ensures a quality finish, both inside and out. The lovely natural colour of the timber was preserved by finishing with several coats of premium clear lacquer. The interior bottom of the box has been lined with a cut to shape piece of wool felt, sourced from an Australian manufacturer located in Melbourne. 

A very stylish little box and great for storing small keepsakes, jewellery pieces or accessories. We have included a standard size business card in one of the photos to help provide a sense of scale.
