Handmade porcelain ceramic small bowl with cherry design

This is an original, handmade ceramic bowl that was wheel thrown from fine porcelain clay. Because I make each of my items by hand this small bowl is unique and would make a perfect gift for Mother's Day, gift for birthdays, housewarming, weddings and anniversaries, or any special occasion.

Bowls are my favourite thing to make. They are so comforting and versatile. This lovely bowl is the perfect size as a rice bowl, soup bowl, snack bowl, dessert bowl, ice cream bowl, and of course, cherry bowl! The overall weight of the bowl is quite light and feels delicate in your hand yet is durable and strong - thanks to the qualities of fine porcelain!

** Process:

This item was wheel thrown with Australian porcelain clay. While the item was 'leather hard' I carved a hand drawn illustration of bright and cheerful cherries into the surface - top, bottom, inside - inlayed and painted with underglazes, and bisque-fired in the kiln to 1000C. A clear, zinc free and food safe glaze was applied, with a cheeky swirl of copper carbonate on the inside, and the bowl was re-fired in the kiln to 1220C.

** Delivery:

I always prefer to use clean recycled and repurposed packaging when possible to ship my pieces. Rest assured your piece will be packaged carefully and double boxed when shipped. I ship within Australia, and internationally, and additional delivery charges are applicable for shipment outside of Australia.
