The ‘Banksia’ series has been inspired by the gorgeous banksia trees near my studio. The gorgeous misty green of the leaves with the blue/grey underside contrasting with the harsh rigid dark banksia nut that dries on the tree has me captivated.

‘Banksia Breeze’ has pushed the abstraction of the leaves with the use of loose flow watercolours and inks and the fine detailed work to give the impression of the nuts. The leaves are a gorgeous mix of the blue and greens flowing together.
