Type of Opal - This is an lovely dark Matrix Australian Boulder Opal with some nice blue matrix colour showing through the ironstone. The non tarnish rose gold wire makes a lovely contrast against the dark opal like green and blue rivers through a stone landscape, quite unique. I cut and polished it and kept the individual shape, which adds to it's uniqueness. Opals are best viewed in direct light. One of a kind!

I source my opals from local miners, cut and polish them myself. It's often a messy thing to do requiring a lot of patience and persistence, and a glorious delight to find that colour within a stone. I tend to like the unusual ones, the unique and different that are often overlooked yet bring such beauty. All opals are solid unless otherwise stated.
