This is an Art Print of my original Gouache on Paper painting, Call of the waves. It features Soldiers Beach, New South Wales. It was painted from my own personal reference photo taken during a family holiday to Norah Head.
For many Australians the beach is a part of their culture. I grew up in Southern Adelaide and lived about 15 minutes drive from my local beach. My summers were filled with evening swims, walks on the jetty, fish and chips and coming home covered in sand. Even in winter I would take long walks down the beach. Now I live in-land the beach is still a part of my soul. It is why seascapes feature in many of my paintings. While not a surfer myself, I grew up around them. The beach is deeply embedded in their souls. Waves are a passion to them. It is like they hear the waves calling.
Open edition print, not numbered. Prints come unframed, with no matt surround or backing.
This image is printed in-house using Canon Lucia pro archival inks. It is printed on Ilford Galerie Smooth Cotton Rag 310 GSM, 100% Cotton Rag paper, acid free and has no optical brighteners. Print is sent protected behind glassine paper (to avoid damage to print surface) and wrapped in cellophane.
Can be professional framed. Should you wish to frame it yourself I recommend using a mat board in your frame to prevent the print from touching the glass, which can result in the print sticking to the glass and/or crinkling over time. A matt surround for a 20x20 cm (8"x8") image would be suitable. I also recommend backing it with 5mm foam core backing and sealing the gap between the backing board and frame with tape (eg framing tape or kraft paper tape). Avoid touching printed surface.
